A Little Bit of Hollywood in a Hangar
Digital Media ETC executed the largest re-branding event in Southwest Airlines History. The plan was to unveil the new brand to Southwest’s cherished employees at its own 13,000 square foot hangar at Dallas Love Airport. After two months of planning, over 4,000 employees arrived to witnessed the world’s first immersive 3D projection experience featuring a life-size, virtual airplane in a virtual hangar. “Being inside a actual hangar, we were able to block out all outside light and sound, which then allowed our high-powered projectors and concert quality sound to create a pure and powerful experience,” said Digital Media ETC President Paul Whitney. The airline also reported 26,000 employees watched the event streaming video online — many of whom shared it on social media.
